3 Delicious & healthy breakfast ideas to kick start your day

It’s officially Naturopathic Medicine week, and Vitalia is supporting you with delicious breakfast ideas!  We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  Start your week off right by always having your breakfast foods on hand.  Having a good breakfast is typically the answer for your energy, weight control and moods!  Here are the three lastest raves in healthy breakfast eating: 

Avocado Toast: Try this topped with microgreens or broccoli sprouts.  GF bread for those who are gluten free.  Side of cottage cheese, chicken sausage or turkey bacon to boost protein and keep you full longer. 

Pumpkin Spice Overnight Oats: Seasonal, delicious and not your typical breakfast!  Prep in about 5 minutes the night before, assemble in a mason jar if you would like a quick breakfast to go.  Surprisingly high in protein especially with greek yogurt and goat’s milk.  Use cashew yogurt for a DF option.  

How about Beans for Breakfast?  Pico De Gallo: Saute onions, garlic, peppers and spices.  Add cooked or canned black or pinto beans, and cooked rice.  Add water, olive oil, or salsa to moisten.  Serve along with a hard boiled egg, whole grain toast if desired.  

Let’s break the cereal habit and think outside the box for a more nutritious breakfast.  Take a little extra time in the morning to start your day off right!
